The Learning Centre is a child centred facility located in a secure and spacious property. We aim to educate the whole child; intellectually, physically, socially and emotionally.
Play and exploration is encouraged
with the use of age and developmentally appropriate activities. Every child is an individual and this is taken into
consideration when planning activities; children have opportunities and experiences that integrate all aspects of
their development.
Our learning environment encourages children to be confident and independent and to
develop their self-esteem. We aim for every child to be secure, comfortable and happy.
The Learning Centre adopts The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS); we observe and record, as appropriate, what children do, and use observations to plan the next steps for the children’s play, learning and development. There are opportunities for children to engage in activities planned by adults and also those that they plan and initiate themselves.
We value our children and their families and aim to provide a friendly, stimulating and safe environment which enables children to develop at their own pace to reach their potential.
We’re open Monday to Friday from 7:15am – 12:30pm each week. To minimise congestion, your child can be dropped off between 7:15 and 8am and picked up between 12:00 and 12:30pm.
Children cannot attend The Learning Centre if they have a respiratory illness (sneezing, sore throat, cough) accompanied by fever, diarrhoea, vomiting, an infectious illness or have any non-specific rashes until they are symptom free or cleared to return by a doctor. If your child becomes ill while at the Centre, a staff member will telephone to inform you and if necessary ask that you collect your child immediately. If we are unable to reach you then we will contact other authorised contacts. We may call your child’s doctor if necessary. Please notify us immediately in the case of an infectious illness.
We encourage all children to treat each other with respect and be kind and helpful to each other. We handle any inconsiderate behaviour by helping children to find a solution in a way which is appropriate for the children’s ages and stages of development. You will be kept fully informed of any incidents that take place involving your child.
In the event of an injury, staff will administer First Aid as appropriate and/or arrange for your child to be transported to the nearest hospital (ambulance fees and/or health care costs are the responsibility of parent/guardian). With your signed consent, we may provide your child with non-prescribed medication in response to an allergic reaction or other emergency situation.
Please ensure that the following items are packed for your child each day;
We advise that your child wear comfortable shoes that can be worn with minimal assistance (straps rather than laces). Please apply sunscreen to your child’s skin before the start of the day. We recommend that parents/guardians purchase a rain coat and a pair of wellington boots for use during the rainy season. Please ensure that all items are clearly labelled with your child’s name.
A cake or treats can be sent in to celebrate your child’s birthday. We sing happy birthday and share cake at 11am. Parents are welcome to join the celebration.
We discourage children from bringing toys from home as they cause conflicts and may be lost or damaged. We encourage fiction or story books and children are welcome to bring these in to share.
We combine education with fun, creating an engaging environment for every child’s growth and joy.
Your child’s safety is our priority, ensuring a nurturing and protected learning space every day.
Dedicated teachers provide personal attention developing confidence, independence, and essential life skills.
We inspire creativity and curiosity, empowering every child to discover talents and reach full potential.
